Power over Ethernet injector is a PoE network midspan device designed to serve as a power supply that utilizes Ethernet cables to provide electrical power to other devices in the network requiring additional power, such as on-PoE switches. Sharing the cable to transmit data and electrical power is possible due to a transformer on the data pins of the injector.
